Favignana Island
The great butterfly on the sea

Favignana, "the great butterfly on the sea" as described by painter Salvatore Fiume in the 1970s, is the main town and the largest island of the Egadi Archipelago. It is 9 miles from Trapani and can be easily reached by hydrofoil from the Port of Marsala. A pristine little paradise where you can breathe an atmosphere from another time, characterized by the fishermen's houses that tell the story of when fishing was the main source of livelihood for the islanders. Here, time flows differently, among narrow streets, colorful boats, and the scent of the sea that permeates every corner.

Crystal-Clear Sea and Breathtaking Coves
Every coast tells a different story

Favignana is famous for its crystal-clear sea, beaches, and coves, where each stretch of coastline stands out for its unique features, making the island perfect for those who love to change scenery every day. Cala Azzurra, with its fine white sand and turquoise waters, is ideal for families with children. The Bue Marino beach, renowned for its cliffs, is perfect for diving enthusiasts. Cala Rossa offers extraordinary seabeds for snorkeling and diving, while Punta Sottile provides breathtaking sunsets where the sky is painted with wonderful colors.

Boat Tours and Sea Caves
Discover the island from the Mediterranean

Visitors to Favignana can explore the island by sea with the daily boat tours that showcase the entire coastline and the stories behind each stretch. Not to be missed are the sea caves such as the Grotta dei Sospiri, natural cavities carved by the sea and wind that create unique light and color effects. Sailing around the island’s perimeter allows you to discover hidden coves, rocks rising from the crystal-clear water, and paradise corners accessible only by sea.

La Camparia and the Castle of Santa Caterina
Historical Heritage and Breathtaking Views

In addition to beach activities, Favignana offers history and culture. La Camparia, formerly known as Tonnara Florio, is a historic site representing an important industrial and cultural heritage of the island. The warehouses host a spectacular seaside lounge bar, a museum space, and a shop with a library. The Hill of Santa Caterina, where the castle of the same name stands, is the highest point on the island at 300 meters: from here you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama, reachable via a 50-minute walk suitable for everyone.
